Mike Liang began his journey in high-end audio well over 20 years ago.
At a time when hi-fi was neither personal nor portable, Mike would quietly and frustratingly obsess over the latest Walkmans, Discmans, and any kind of product even resembling personal hi-fi during his formative years. He dedicated most of his free time towards exploring Bay Area hi-fi shops, and engaging people in the audio business. As one might imagine, he was not tremendously popular with the ladies.
But all was not for naught, as he emerged from that misspent youth with a handsomely appointed system anchored by various McIntosh and Focal gear. Then he became a DJ (Dj-AmTraX) and things started to quickly turn around for him.
Today, he sequesters himself, his wife, his three dogs, and well over 200 pairs of headphones (we lost count somewhere at 137) in an undisclosed location near San Francisco, periodically violating headphones and other personal audio gear, and documenting the experience for others on YouTube. Fans of Mike may know him better as HiFiGuy528 (the guy with the headphone unboxings).
